Cookie Policy
Cookies are small text files that websites can use to make your experience more efficient. The law allows us to store cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to work. For everything else we need your permission, and you can change your mind at any time.
We group cookies into three categories:
- Essential: always on. Needed for the site to work, including sign-in, security, and remembering your cookie preferences.
- Statistics: off by default. Helps us understand which pages are useful, where visitors get stuck, and which page or campaign brought you to us (Google Analytics 4, plus two Redar cookies of our own). No personalised advertising.
- Marketing: off by default. Used for Google Ads conversion tracking and personalised advertising on platforms we work with.
To change your choices at any time, open the cookie preferences panel:
The information below lists the specific cookies used in each category. Some cookies are set by third-party services we embed; those are listed under the relevant provider.
Necessary Cookies
Necessary cookies help make a website usable by enabling basic functions like page navigation and access to secure areas of the website. The website cannot function properly without these cookies.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| redar-cookie-consent | redar.com | Stores your granular cookie consent (which categories you've allowed) as a versioned JSON value so the banner doesn't reappear on every visit. | 1 year | HTTP Cookie |
| __Secure-authjs.session-token | redar.com | Maintains your authenticated session when signed in to the admin area. | 30 days | HTTP Cookie |
| __Host-authjs.csrf-token | redar.com | Protects admin sign-in against cross-site request forgery (CSRF). | Session | HTTP Cookie |
| partner-token | redar.com | Used to maintain user session state for Partner Portal authentication. | 30 days | HTTP Cookie |
| member-token | redar.com | Keeps you signed in to your member account, for example to view members-only pieces. | 30 days | HTTP Cookie |
| redar-admin-nav-collapsed | redar.com | Remembers whether you collapsed the sidebar. Only ever set for signed-in Redar staff using the admin area. | 1 year | HTTP Cookie |
| redar-portal-nav-collapsed | redar.com | Remembers whether you collapsed the sidebar. Only ever set for signed-in partners using the Partner Portal. | 1 year | HTTP Cookie |
Statistics Cookies
Statistic cookies help website owners to understand how visitors interact with websites by collecting and reporting information anonymously. Two of these are set by Redar itself rather than by Google, and they record which page or campaign brought you to the site so we can tell which of our own pages are useful. None of them are set unless you allow the Statistics category.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| redar_attr | redar.com | Records the first page you landed on and the website that referred you, so that if you later join our member list we can tell which of our pages brought you here. Set once, on your first visit, and never overwritten. | 30 days | HTTP Cookie |
| redar_ref | redar.com | Stores the code from a Redar link, QR code or campaign you arrived on, so a later sign-up or purchase can be credited to it. Only set if you arrive on a tagged Redar link. | 30 days | HTTP Cookie |
| _ga | Used to distinguish unique visitors. Tracks the visitor across domains and marketing channels. | 2 years | HTTP Cookie | |
| _ga_[ID] | Used to persist session state. Tracks the visitor across devices and marketing channels. | 2 years | HTTP Cookie | |
| _gid | Used to distinguish unique visitors. Tracks the visitor across domains and marketing channels. | 1 day | HTTP Cookie |
Local Storage & Offline Data
In addition to cookies, we use other browser storage technologies to support the functionality of our Partner Portal and website. These are strictly necessary for the services to operate and do not track you across other websites.
| Technology | Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| IndexedDB | redar-portal | Stores Partner Portal data locally so partners can continue working offline. Includes cached collections, items, queued actions, and photos pending upload. | Persistent until cleared |
| Cache API | redar-static-v1, redar-portal-data-v1, redar-portal-pages-v1 | Used by the Partner Portal service worker to cache pages and assets for offline access. | Persistent until cleared |
| Local Storage | pwa-install-dismissed | Remembers whether the Partner Portal "Add to Home Screen" prompt has been dismissed. | Persistent until cleared |
| Session Storage | Scroll position and interface state | Returns you to where you were on a list when you press Back, and remembers which sections you had expanded. Used in the admin area and the Partner Portal. | Browser session |
Marketing Cookies
Marketing cookies are only set when you have explicitly allowed the Marketing category. We use them for Google Ads and OpenAI Ads conversion tracking and personalised advertising. No marketing cookies are set if you decline this category.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| _gcl_au | Google Ads Conversion Linker. Links an ad click to a later conversion (such as a purchase or signup) so campaign performance can be measured. | 90 days | HTTP Cookie | |
| __oppref | OpenAI | Stores an OpenAI Ads click identifier so a later conversion (such as a member signup) can be attributed to an OpenAI ad. Only set when you arrive from an OpenAI ad. | 30 days | HTTP Cookie |
These marketing features load third-party services (Google and OpenAI). Those providers, and the infrastructure they use, may set additional cookies under their own domains (for example google.com, openai.com, and bzrcdn.openai.com), including cookies used for load balancing and bot protection. Those cookies are controlled by the relevant provider and are governed by that provider's own privacy and cookie policies.
