Redar Terms & Conditions

This Agreement sets out the terms and conditions governing the Managed Resale Service, furniture package services, and related purchases. It is entered into between Redar (operated by Greenwich Ventures Limited), a company registered in England and Wales (No. 16965842) with registered office at 73 Cornhill, London, EC3V 3QQ, and the Seller identified in the Seller Intake Form, the package client identified in any package proposal, invoice or booking, and/or the Buyer identified at registration or point of purchase, as applicable.

By confirming a collection booking, approving a furniture package, paying a package deposit, or completing a purchase, you agree to be bound by this Agreement.

Certain provisions apply only to Sellers, only to Buyers, or only to furniture package clients. Where this is the case, it is clearly stated.

Background

A. "Redar" comes from the Scandinavian root reda (as in Swedish reda ut), meaning to sort out or resolve. It reflects our purpose: resolving resale through a clear, end-to-end custodial process.

B. We take custody of accepted items and manage the full resale lifecycle, including assessment, preparation, photography, storage, pricing, buyer communication, fulfilment, settlement, and post-sale support.

C. Each item enters a defined, time-bound sales lifecycle. Items are initially listed at fixed prices. Where items remain unsold, alternative routes to market may be applied in accordance with the resolution option selected at intake.

D. Redar may also provide curated furniture package services, including brief review, design direction, sourcing, stock matching, package proposals, reservation of agreed items, preparation, logistics coordination, delivery, and installation or staging support where agreed.

E. We may update these Terms from time to time in accordance with Clause 23. Updates apply to new consignments, package approvals, and transactions only, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

1. Interpretation

"You" refers to the Seller, Buyer, or furniture package client, as applicable.

"We", "us", "our" refers to Redar, operated by Greenwich Ventures Limited.

Headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.

Definitions

  • Buyer: a person or entity that purchases an item through Redar.
  • Design and Curation Fee: the fee charged for Redar's package design, sourcing, stock matching, proposal and curation work.
  • Furniture Package: a curated package of furniture or household items assembled by Redar for a client, including landlord furniture packages, serviced accommodation packages, short-let packages, rental property packages, and similar whole-room or whole-property packages.
  • Furniture Reservation Deposit: the deposit payable after a Furniture Package has been approved, normally equal to 40% of the agreed furniture package value unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • Item: the item(s) consigned for sale as described in the Seller Intake Form, listed on the Redar platform, or included in a Furniture Package.
  • Managed Resale Service: Redar's end-to-end resale service, including collection, assessment, preparation, pricing, marketing, storage, resale, and final resolution.
  • Seller: a person or entity that consigns an item to Redar for sale.
  • Seller Intake Form: the document governing consignment details, which incorporates these Terms.
  • Working Day: any day other than a Saturday, Sunday, or public holiday in England, Scotland, or Wales.

2. The Service

Redar provides a Managed Resale Service for qualifying pre-owned household items and acts as disclosed agent for the Seller in the resale of those items. The Seller owns the item until sale. The Seller authorises Redar to market the item, agree the sale, receive payment, arrange delivery, and transfer title to the Buyer on the Seller's behalf. Title to items does not transfer to Redar at any point.

Items may be listed and sold through any sales channel that Redar considers appropriate to achieve a sale. This includes Redar's own platform, any Redar-branded or white-labelled auction or resale channel, and third-party platforms including but not limited to eBay, Facebook Marketplace, and similar marketplaces. Redar manages the sale process across all channels. The fee structure set out in Clause 4 applies regardless of which channel is used, and the agreed pricing terms remain unchanged. Redar handles all buyer communications and disputes across all channels. Sellers consent to sale through any such channel at the point of intake.

Where a Buyer purchases through Redar and pays Redar, Redar will handle customer support, delivery coordination, and the returns and refunds process set out in Clause 12. Nothing in these Terms affects any statutory rights a consumer has against the seller of the goods.

Redar may also provide Furniture Package services. Furniture Packages are curated to a client brief and may combine Redar-held stock, reserved resale stock, sourced items, third-party supplier items, delivery, installation, staging, styling, or other agreed package components. Package-specific deposits, cancellation, substitution, and payment terms are set out in Clause 7.

3. Collection: Sellers Only

Redar operates on a collection-only basis. Items must be accessible at the agreed collection address and accurately described in advance. Redar reserves the right to decline collection of items that do not match the description provided.

Unauthorised deliveries to Redar premises or storage locations may incur additional storage or handling charges.

4. Fees

4.1 Collection Fee (Sellers)

A minimum collection fee of £100 applies per collection. The Collection Fee is confirmed before collection and is payable by the Seller regardless of whether the items are sold.

Redar may, at its discretion, defer payment of the Collection Fee by issuing an invoice on deferred terms, as agreed with the Seller prior to collection. Where sale proceeds are available before the invoice due date, Redar may deduct the Collection Fee from those proceeds. If sale proceeds are insufficient to cover the Collection Fee, or if items do not sell, the Seller remains responsible for paying any outstanding balance.

4.2 Managed Resolution Fee (Sellers)

Redar charges 42% (35% + VAT) of gross resale proceeds. This fee applies regardless of the sales channel used. All agreed fees and costs are deducted prior to settlement.

4.3 Delivery Charge (Buyers)

Buyers pay a delivery charge in addition to the purchase price. The applicable charge is confirmed at checkout or prior to purchase and varies by item size, weight, and delivery location. Delivery charges are non-refundable except where a return is accepted under Clause 12.

4.4 No Buyer Premium

No buyer premium or administration fee is charged to Buyers. Buyers pay the listed item price plus the delivery charge only.

4.5 Furniture Package Fees (Package Clients)

Furniture Package fees, deposits, delivery, installation, styling, staging, sourcing, supplier charges, and other package-specific charges are confirmed in the relevant package proposal, invoice, or written agreement. Package-specific terms are set out in Clause 7.

5. Product Description and Condition

All items listed by Redar are previously owned and may show signs of use consistent with their age and condition grade. Redar inspects each item in person before listing and assigns a condition grade on the following scale:

  • Excellent: minimal or no visible wear; appears near-new.
  • Very Good: light signs of use; no significant damage.
  • Good: moderate signs of use; any notable wear is described and photographed.
  • Fair: visible wear or minor damage; clearly described and photographed.
  • Poor: significant wear or damage; sold as seen with full disclosure.

Condition descriptions and photographs are prepared to accurately represent each item. Buyers are responsible for reviewing all listing information, including dimensions, condition notes, and photographs, prior to purchase. Redar does not accept returns on the basis of fit, space, or suitability.

Furniture Package clients are responsible for reviewing package proposals, item schedules, photos, dimensions, condition information, and any stated substitutions or assumptions before approving a package.

6. Buyer Purchasing Process

Buyers may browse and enquire about listed items via the Redar platform or member communications. A purchase is confirmed upon receipt of full payment, including the applicable delivery charge.

Title transfers from the Seller to the Buyer when Redar receives cleared funds in full as agent for the Seller. Risk in the item transfers to the Buyer upon delivery. Until delivery is complete, Redar retains responsibility for the item in accordance with Clause 19.

Buyers are encouraged to raise any questions about an item prior to purchase. Redar is available to provide additional photographs, measurements, or condition information on request.

7. Furniture Packages: Deposits, Cancellation and Substitution (Package Clients)

7.1 Scope

This Clause 7 applies to Furniture Packages, including landlord furniture packages, serviced accommodation packages, short-let packages, rental property packages, whole-room packages, whole-property packages, and similar curated package services.

Furniture Packages are separate from ordinary individual item purchases. A Furniture Package may involve design and curation work, reservation of multiple items, removal of items from general sale, sourcing, cleaning, repair, preparation, storage, delivery planning, installation planning, staging, supplier commitments, and other package-specific costs.

7.2 Design and Curation Fee

The Design and Curation Fee is separate from the furniture package value.

This fee covers Redar's work in reviewing the property, understanding the brief, preparing the design direction, matching stock, sourcing suitable items, producing package proposals, preparing room-by-room selections, and coordinating the package concept.

Once Redar has started design, sourcing, curation, or proposal work, the Design and Curation Fee is non-refundable.

If the client cancels before Redar has started any design, sourcing, curation, or proposal work, the Design and Curation Fee may be refunded.

7.3 Furniture Reservation Deposit

Once the client approves a Furniture Package, Redar will request a Furniture Reservation Deposit.

The standard Furniture Reservation Deposit is 40% of the agreed furniture package value, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

For example, on a £10,000 furniture package, the standard Furniture Reservation Deposit would be £4,000.

The Furniture Reservation Deposit allows Redar to:

  • reserve agreed items for the client;
  • remove agreed items from general sale;
  • begin sourcing any remaining required pieces;
  • arrange preparation, cleaning, repair, or styling work where needed;
  • hold the package for the agreed delivery or installation window;
  • coordinate logistics, storage, and delivery planning.

The Furniture Reservation Deposit is treated as a part-payment towards the agreed furniture package, not as a separate fee.

7.4 Cancellation Before Package Approval

If the client has paid only the Design and Curation Fee, but has not yet approved a Furniture Package, no Furniture Reservation Deposit is due.

If the client cancels before package approval:

  • the Design and Curation Fee remains non-refundable once Redar has started work;
  • no furniture items will be reserved;
  • no Furniture Reservation Deposit will be charged.

7.5 Cancellation After Package Approval But Before Items Are Reserved

If the client cancels after approving the package but before Redar has reserved items, removed items from sale, sourced items, prepared items, transported items, stored items, or committed to third-party costs, Redar will refund the Furniture Reservation Deposit less any agreed or reasonable costs already incurred.

These costs may include administration, sourcing time, proposal revisions, supplier commitments, or any other costs directly connected to the approved package.

7.6 Cancellation After Items Are Reserved or Committed

Once Redar has reserved items, removed them from sale, sourced them, prepared them, transported them, stored them, or otherwise committed them to the client's package, the Furniture Reservation Deposit becomes refundable only after deduction of Redar's reasonable costs and losses.

Redar may retain from the Furniture Reservation Deposit any reasonable costs or losses arising from the cancellation, including but not limited to:

  • administration time;
  • design and sourcing time not covered by the Design and Curation Fee;
  • lost selling time while items were reserved;
  • storage costs;
  • handling costs;
  • transport or logistics costs;
  • cleaning, repair, preparation, or styling costs;
  • third-party supplier costs;
  • re-marketing costs;
  • any loss arising from re-listing or reallocating the item after cancellation.

Redar will take reasonable steps to reduce any loss where practical, including re-listing, reallocating, or reselling reserved items.

Any unused balance of the Furniture Reservation Deposit, after deduction of reasonable costs and losses, will be refunded or credited to the client.

7.7 Cancellation Close to Delivery or Installation

If the client cancels within 14 days of the agreed delivery or installation date, Redar may retain a larger proportion of the Furniture Reservation Deposit because more costs are likely to have been committed by that stage.

These may include final logistics, labour, storage, delivery planning, preparation, staging, specialist handling, third-party supplier commitments, and opportunity cost on reserved stock.

Redar will still assess deductions on a reasonable basis and will refund or credit any unused balance after reasonable costs and losses have been deducted.

7.8 Cancellation After Delivery or Installation

Once items have been delivered or installed, the client may not cancel the package for change of mind unless Redar agrees otherwise in writing.

This does not affect the client's rights where items are faulty, materially misdescribed, not supplied as agreed, or otherwise subject to rights that cannot legally be excluded.

7.9 Changes, Substitutions and Individual Item Cancellation

Redar will try to accommodate reasonable changes to the Furniture Package where practical.

Before an item has been reserved, removed from sale, sourced, prepared, or committed, the client may request a substitution without cancellation cost, subject to availability and any change in price.

After an item has been reserved, removed from sale, sourced, prepared, transported, stored, or otherwise committed, Redar may deduct any reasonable costs or losses arising from removing or substituting that item.

If the replacement item is more expensive, the client will pay the difference.

If the replacement item is less expensive, the difference may be credited against the package, subject to deduction of any costs or losses already incurred in relation to the original item.

Items that have been specially sourced, bought in, altered, refurbished, cleaned, repaired, reserved, or prepared specifically for the client may not be cancellable without cost.

7.10 Statement Pieces and Optional Items

Some proposal items may be presented as optional statement pieces or examples of the type of stock Redar can provide at different price levels.

Unless expressly confirmed in the approved package schedule, these items are indicative only and are not guaranteed to be included in the final package.

The final package may be adjusted depending on budget, availability, suitability, lead time, short-let durability, and the client's preferred balance between practical items and elevated design pieces.

7.11 Final Balance

The final balance of the Furniture Package must be paid before delivery or installation, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Delivery, installation, staging, styling, photography, third-party supplier charges, and any other agreed costs may be quoted separately and must also be paid before delivery or installation, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

8. Delivery

Redar arranges delivery of purchased items and Furniture Packages to the Buyer's or package client's nominated address. Delivery timescales are confirmed at or prior to purchase, package approval, or final invoice. While Redar takes reasonable care in arranging delivery, timescales are estimates and may be affected by factors outside Redar's control.

Buyers and package clients must ensure the delivery address is accessible and that the item or package can be safely received. Additional charges may apply where a delivery attempt fails due to access issues or absence.

9. Item Eligibility and Seller Description: Sellers Only

Redar may accept or decline items at its discretion. Sellers must provide accurate descriptions of condition, provenance, and any known defects. Descriptions provided by Sellers form the basis of Redar's listings.

Sellers have 24 hours following listing to notify Redar of any inaccuracy in the published description. After this period, the listing is deemed approved by the Seller.

Where a return or dispute arises from inaccurate information provided by the Seller, the Seller bears responsibility for any resulting costs, including refund, re-collection, and re-listing.

10. Authority to Sell: Sellers Only

Sellers warrant that they have full legal title to all items consigned and the authority to sell them. Items are accepted subject to physical assessment. Where a material discrepancy is identified on collection, Redar may decline to proceed or revise the agreed approach.

If no objection is raised by the Seller within 24 hours of the agreed pricing and sales route being communicated, Redar may proceed with listing and sale.

11. Preparation: Sellers Only

Redar may arrange cleaning or minor remedial work where this is likely to improve sale outcome. Any preparation costs are confirmed in advance and deducted from proceeds. Redar will not commission significant repairs without explicit Seller approval.

12. Returns, Cancellation and Refunds: Buyers

12.1 Scope

This Clause 12 sets out (i) your statutory rights as a consumer and (ii) Redar's process for handling returns and refunds. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

Package-specific cancellation terms are set out in Clause 7. Nothing in Clause 7 limits any statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded.

12.2 Returns for Misdescription, Damage or Fault (Consumer Rights Act 2015)

If an item is faulty or materially not as described, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Given the nature of pre-owned items, the condition is assessed against the listing description (including condition grade, photos and any disclosed defects).

12.3 Right to Cancel (Change of Mind) for Distance Sales (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013)

Where you are a consumer and buy an item online or at a distance, you have a legal right to cancel your purchase for any reason within 14 days of the day after delivery, without giving a reason.

If the item has been damaged, altered, used beyond reasonable inspection, or handled beyond what would be permitted in a shop, Redar may make a deduction from the refund to reflect any diminished value, where permitted by law.

12.4 Notification Windows

  • Faulty / not as described: contact us as soon as reasonably possible and in any event within 30 days of delivery if you wish to exercise the short-term right to reject, unless the issue could not reasonably have been identified within that period.
  • Change of mind cancellation: notify us within 14 days of the day after delivery.

12.5 How to Initiate a Return or Cancellation

Contact Redar at hello@redar.com and provide:

  • your order reference;
  • the reason for the return (misdescription/fault, or cancellation); and
  • where relevant, photos showing the issue.

We will acknowledge within 2 working days and confirm next steps.

12.6 Return Collection and Condition of Returned Items

Where you exercise a statutory right to cancel or return, Redar will process the return in accordance with applicable law. For non-statutory return requests, Redar may approve or decline the return at its discretion.

You must keep the item in reasonable condition and must not alter, repair or further damage it after delivery.

12.7 Return Costs

  • Faulty / not as described: Redar will cover reasonable return collection costs.
  • Change of mind cancellation: you may be responsible for return collection costs, and we may deduct those costs from the refund where permitted by law. We will confirm the cost before arranging collection.

12.8 Refunds

If a refund is due, we will refund the purchase price. Delivery charges will be refunded where required by law. Refunds will be processed to the original payment method within 14 days of (i) collection of the returned item (where we arrange collection) or (ii) receiving the returned item (where you return it using an agreed method), unless a longer period is permitted by law.

12.9 Disputed Returns

If we cannot verify the reported issue on inspection, we will notify you. The item will be made available for re-delivery at your cost. If you do not arrange re-delivery or collection within 14 days of our notice, Redar may apply a storage charge. If the item remains uncollected after a further written notice of at least 7 days, Redar may donate or dispose of it responsibly.

12.10 Seller Liability on Returns

Where an approved return arises from inaccurate condition information provided by the Seller, the cost of the refund and associated logistics may be recovered from the Seller's outstanding proceeds or invoiced to the Seller separately.

13. Pricing and Settlement

Redar controls pricing and route to market unless a reserve price has been agreed in writing with the Seller. Redar may reduce the listed price by up to 50% of the initial listing price over the course of the sales cycle without further Seller approval. Any reduction beyond 50% of the initial listing price requires Seller consent.

Seller settlement is completed at the end of the collection's sales cycle, once the collection has been reconciled: cleared funds received from Buyers, successful delivery confirmed, any applicable statutory cancellation or return periods expired, and all agreed fees and costs applied. Redar issues an itemised seller statement and pays the net amount due by bank transfer. Where some items in a collection sell and others do not, costs relating to the collection as a whole may be recovered across the sold items as part of the final settlement. Where Redar makes an earlier settlement at its discretion, Redar reserves the right to recover from the Seller any refund, return logistics cost, chargeback, or related cost that arises after settlement has been made.

At the end of the sales cycle, Redar will apply the resolution option selected by the Seller at intake (see Clause 20). No further Seller approval is required to action the selected resolution option once the sales cycle has concluded.

Settlement is net of all agreed fees and costs.

14. Data and Compliance

Redar may require identification or other information to comply with applicable legal obligations. Personal data is handled in accordance with Redar's Privacy Policy, available at www.redar.com.

15. Product Safety and Restricted Items

All items consigned must comply with applicable UK regulations, including product safety, electrical safety, upholstered furniture fire safety, and consumer protection legislation.

Redar reserves the right to decline, withdraw from sale, or arrange appropriate disposal of any item that:

  • does not meet applicable UK safety standards;
  • is subject to a product recall;
  • is suspected to be counterfeit or of uncertain provenance;
  • is upholstered furniture without the required fire safety labelling; or
  • Redar reasonably considers poses a risk to health or safety.

Where an item is withdrawn on safety grounds, Redar will notify the Seller. The Seller is responsible for any disposal costs where the item cannot be returned safely.

16. Title and Warranties: Sellers

Sellers warrant that:

  • They hold full legal title to all items consigned.
  • The items are free from any charge, lien, or encumbrance.
  • They have the authority to sell the items on the terms set out in this Agreement.
  • All information provided about the items is accurate and not misleading.
  • The items comply with all applicable UK product safety regulations.

The Seller indemnifies Redar against any loss, claim, cost, or liability arising from any third-party claim that the Seller did not own the item or did not have authority to sell it, including any claim by a finance company, insurer, or other party asserting an interest in the item.

17. Liability

17.1 Redar's liability to Sellers

Redar's liability to Sellers is limited to the net resale proceeds achieved for the relevant item, except where liability cannot be excluded or limited by applicable law.

17.2 Redar's liability to Buyers and Package Clients

Redar's liability to Buyers and package clients in connection with any item or Furniture Package is limited to the purchase price, package value, and delivery charge paid for that item or package, except where liability cannot be excluded or limited by applicable law.

17.3 Consumer rights

Nothing in this Agreement excludes or limits any rights that Buyers or package clients have under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other applicable consumer protection legislation that cannot be excluded by contract.

18. Intellectual Property

All listing content, photography, and media produced by Redar in connection with an item or Furniture Package remain the property of Redar and may be used for marketing, operational, and archival purposes.

19. Insurance

Items held in Redar's physical custody are insured for their estimated resale value at the time of intake. For the purposes of this clause, the estimated resale value is the initial listing price set by Redar. Where Redar has exercised its right to reduce the listing price during the sales cycle, any insurance claim will be assessed by reference to the current listed price at the time of the loss or damage. Redar will provide details of the applicable insurance cover on request.

For Furniture Packages, insurance while items are in Redar's physical custody is assessed by reference to the value of the relevant reserved item or package component, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Insurance does not cover items once risk has transferred to the Buyer or package client on delivery.

20. Sales Cycle and Resolution: Sellers

Items follow a defined sales cycle of 90 days by default, unless otherwise agreed in writing. The sales cycle begins on the date the item is first published for sale by Redar.

At intake, Sellers select a resolution option to apply if the item remains unsold at the end of the sales cycle. By selecting a resolution option at intake, the Seller gives Redar irrevocable authority to action that option at the end of the sales cycle without further approval. Resolution options are:

  • Sale without reserve: item is offered for sale at any price.
  • Donation: item is donated to a nominated or Redar-selected charity.
  • Disposal: item is responsibly disposed of by Redar.
  • Return: item is returned to the Seller, subject to a return logistics charge.
  • Extended storage: where agreed in writing, item may remain in storage beyond the default cycle. Extended storage is subject to Redar's then-current storage charges, which will be notified to the Seller before the extension begins.

Where Redar requires Seller input or approval during the sales cycle, Redar will contact the Seller using the details provided at intake. If the Seller does not respond within 48 hours of Redar's communication, the request will be deemed approved and Redar may proceed accordingly.

If, following the end of the sales cycle, the Seller cannot be contacted to confirm the resolution outcome, Redar may proceed with the selected resolution option after a further 5 Working Days without response. Items not resolved within a reasonable period following the end of the sales cycle may, at Redar's discretion, be donated or disposed of responsibly, with written notice to the Seller's last known contact details.

21. Lien and Set-Off

Redar reserves the right to retain any item in its possession, and to withhold settlement of any proceeds otherwise due to a Seller, until all sums owed by that Seller to Redar have been paid in full. This includes, without limitation, amounts arising from return logistics costs, preparation costs, Collection Fees, and any other charges recoverable under this Agreement.

Redar may set off any amounts owed by a Seller against any proceeds due to that Seller without prior notice.

For Furniture Packages, Redar may set off reasonable cancellation costs, preparation costs, storage costs, supplier costs, logistics costs, re-marketing costs, or other sums owed by the package client against any Furniture Reservation Deposit, credit, refund, or other amount otherwise due to the client, where permitted by law.

22. Force Majeure

Neither party shall be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations under this Agreement to the extent that such failure or delay is caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to fire, flood, natural disaster, pandemic, civil unrest, failure of third-party infrastructure, or disruption to transport or logistics networks.

The party affected must notify the other as soon as reasonably practicable and take reasonable steps to mitigate the impact. If a force majeure event continues for more than 30 days, either party may terminate the affected arrangements on written notice, without liability, save that Redar will use reasonable endeavours to return any unsold items to the Seller or action the selected resolution option.

23. Variation

Redar may update these Terms from time to time. Where Redar makes a material change, Redar will provide reasonable notice (which may be given by email or by posting an update on www.redar.com). Updated Terms apply to new consignments, package approvals, and transactions entered into after the effective date of the update, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Continued use of the Managed Resale Service or Furniture Package service following notice of an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

24. Alternative Dispute Resolution

If you are a consumer and we are unable to resolve your complaint, we will provide details of any alternative dispute resolution body that may be suitable. Redar is not obliged to use alternative dispute resolution unless required by law, but will consider any reasonable request in good faith.

25. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

This Agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales. Both parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

26. Contact and Complaints
