Large Hand-Painted Indian Floor Vase (1)

Description

Large spherical floor vase, constructed from panelled metal with a black lacquered ground. The body is hand-painted with individual figures in traditional dress, each set within a cusped arch. Floral and geometric borders decorate the shoulder and neck. The surface shows craquelure and minor losses to the painted decoration consistent with age.
