A notable design element is the inclusion of thin brass accent rods connecting the upper outer pillars to the solid backboard, secured by exposed brass flathead screws. The piece exhibits a heavily distressed finish with substantial edge wear and chipping, revealing the lighter wood beneath. This authentic wear lends it a rustic, industrial, or wabi-sabi aesthetic.
