Large floor vase in painted metal with a separate lid. The globular body is divided into vertical panels, each decorated with a hand-painted scene of a courtly figure against a black ground. The panels are separated by raised ribs and framed with gilt borders. The neck and lid are decorated with complementary floral and geometric motifs.

Large spherical floor vase, constructed from panelled metal with a black lacquered ground. The body is hand-painted with individual figures in traditional dress, each set within a cusped arch. Floral and geometric borders decorate the shoulder and neck. The surface shows craquelure and minor losses to the painted decoration consistent with age.
